Bequest

Over the years, Central Organization for Jewish Education Chabad Lubavitch of the Pacific Northwest has been the recipient of many generous gifts through bequests in Wills and Trusts. These acts of Tzedakah are an important legacy for these donors and their families.

A bequest is a gift for the future generations, and is a simple and easy way to support our community without affecting your current financial circumstances. If you have a Will or a Trust, there is no need to re-write your documents - you simply add a “codicil” or amendment.

It’s simple-
Just a few sentences in your will or trusts are needed.

It’s flexible-
Because you are not making a gift until after your lifetime, you will not affect your current financial situation and can change your designations at any time.

It’s versatile-
You can structure the bequest to leave a specific amount, or a specific percentage of your estate, or to make the gift contingent on certain events. A bequest can even be made through a retirement fund, life insurance policy, or other assets.

It’s tax deductible-
If your estate is subject to estate tax, your gift is entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction of the gift’s full value.
