Rabbi Sholom Ber Levitin has been the Regional Director of Chabad-Lubavitch of the Pacific Northwest for over 50 years.   The region spans the Northwest United States including Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho and Montana and spreads into Canada, including the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.

In addition, the Rabbi serves as Rabbi of  Congregation Shaarei Tefillah Lubavitch.  He was ordained at the Central Chabad Lubavitch Rabbinical Seminary Yeshiva in Brooklyn, New York in 1970.  His articles have appeared in newspapers and magazines throughout the course of his rabbinical career.

Rabbi Levitin and Chanie Levitin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2019. The couple are the proud parents of 12 children and over 45 grandchildren. They came to Seattle in 1972, sent by the late Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson O.B.M. to establish the network of activities that Chabad-Lubavitch is famous for throughout the world.

Rabbi Sholom Ber Levitin has been serving on the Central Board of Trustees of  Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch for over 10 years, the central organizational body which oversees over 4,000 Chabad centers throughout the world. There are only ten other members of this illustrious board.

There are now well over 25 Chabad Rabbis in the state of Washington, and the number is growing. Chabad Centers are located in King, Pierce, Clark, Whatcom, Snohomish, Spokane, and Thurston Counties, and are in the process of expanding to new areas.
